Step 1: Building Your Swing Foundation

You can’t get to point B if you skip A

Before training a loopy, elongated “home run swing” it’s critical to learn mechanics to hit a dominant fastball. Your “core swing” is your foundation swing, providing a “fallback” when facing the best pitchers in your league.

ENGAGING YOUR CORE KEEPS YOU COMPACT AND BALANCED WITH YOUR STRIDE, PREVENTS LUNGING AND IMPROVES CORE POWER

Engage your core in the batting stance by using your stabilizing muscles (groin), as opposed to bending over your knees, resulting in your weaker extremity muscles taking the weight, disconnecting power from your core.

  • Spread out past shoulder width.
  • Tilt slightly forward and take the weight on the front inside balls of your feet.
  • Visualize squeezing the ball in between your knees.

MINIMAL LOAD FOR MAXIMUM POWER

Loading against your back leg to engage your core and to improve balance and stride.

Why? Loading over your back leg disengages your swing from your core. Reducing bat speed and triggering mistakes, such as; jumping, dipping the pulling off the ball.

Drill: Turn the front knee in, rotate your back leg

HIT YOUR WAY

20 Minute Lasers is an optional training program developed by the world’s number one hitting expert Clinton Balgera, the inventor of the Laser Strap; which improves, bat speed, power, and mechanics for all swing types. Therefore, you can practice using your preferred hitting method.
