• THEY ARE SO PUMPED: Most of them, I’ll just hand it to them and say figure it out, use your core to free up the hands and pound it. I’ve also told all our guys they will be getting their own, and they are so pumped. “Really? Oh, that’s awesome coach!”
• MASHING: Two more players used it today, tee work, and live-machine work; on the field. Mashing!!! The hitting product is sweet every guy on the team has at least seen somebody else wear it and RAM baseballs.
• KID WAS BARRELING EVERYTHING: We had a freshman hitting off a machine with no timing mechanism. The kid was barreling everything with backspin to the pull side and not getting hook-spin that he gets a lot of, at times. It was impressive, our head coach kept looking at me, raising his eyebrows.
• OH, I FELT THAT: Just took two of our freshman and had one with the front arm inside, and the other with the back arm; seeing if I could fix the swing. Withing a few swings, and my guidance; they were on balls, better, positioning and contact. Both, on a couple of swings gave that look of, “oh I felt that.” I appreciate it, our number one goal, getting our guys better.
• WITHIN FIVE SWINGS HE HAD IT: We had another satisfied customer today; a stud outfielder wore it through all his hitting stations. After batting practice, our starting third baseman said; “Coach can I try? How does it work?” I took him into the batting cage, explaining up-and-in, rotating, staying connected, driving the top hand thru the ball. Within five swings he had it. Next, explaining, low and away, seating balance, and core to the ball, top hand release through contact, smashing it with backspin to opposite field gap, killing it!
