Proper Hand Position For A Batting Stance

The closer your hands start to your body's center, the easier it is to hit a dominant fastball. The further away, the easier it is to hit a hanging breaking ball.

HAND POSITIONING

  • Start in a place, allowing you to get to the ball on time.
  • When facing a dominant fastball pitcher, the best spot to start your hands is close to your back shoulder.
  • The closer your hands start your body’s center, the less chance of error during your “loading up” phase.
  • Avoid “consciously loading” with your hands, as they naturally separate from your body.
